January 2016 - This edition of our Brag Rag will begin with an account of our January 10th concert at Tera Losa Seniors Residence. The building has a beautiful 200-seat theatre with a sound system (and someone to run it) and it was a wonderful venue for both guitar and piano students. One of the residents allowed us to use her electronic piano, for which we were extremely grateful, and a good time was had by students, parents and seniors alike. Everyone played beautifully, and there were many positive comments about the performance. The residence even provided us with a snack following the concert. I'm fairly certain we will be welcome to come back next year. Below is a picture of "my angels" just prior to the start of the concert.

I also have some bragging rights concerning my student TRAVIS LUCKERT. Travis has decided to pursue guitar at the university level, which is very exciting. This year will be spent auditioning at several schools both in the US and here in Canada, with the first of those auditions beginning this weekend. He will be travelling to USC Thornton (in Los Angeles) to audition for Scott Tennant, and as well to San Francisco to audition for Marc Teicholz. Travis is the 3rd of my students to follow this path, and I couldn't be happier or more proud of this young man who has grown up in front of me during the 12 years I have taught him. After receiving his email updates this weekend, it sounds like things went well. Fingers crossed!
